Day 24/Day 25 - Inspired by a Movie/Fashion

Originally I was going to do Young Einstein nails (if you haven't seen that movie, go watch it now. Seriously. Do it.) but got randomly inspired by Toy Story 3. Not only does this fit for the movie nails, but also for fashion since it is based on Barbie and Ken's clothes in the movie. I'm only meshing these together because I accidentally skipped the movie day all together and didn't want to get too far out of order.

Here are some reference images

And the design

I am incredibly happy with the thumb and pinky, pretty satisfied with the pointer and ring, and baffled at the middle nail. No idea what happened there. There are some of the craziest air bubbles I have ever seen in there! O.o

Colors used include: For Audrey - China Glaze, How I Met Your Magenta - Wet N Wild, Mellow Yellow - Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear, White On - Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear, Flower Girl and Fashionista - Sinful Colors (stripers), and a generic blue that I found at Ross in a set.

What do you guys think? Probably going to do another design that features the leopard print again. I am apparently becoming obsessed with leopard print!

Day 13 - Animal Print

After seeing the Girls In Pearls display from Sinful Colors, I immediately fell in love with all but one. I only grabbed one, but it is certain that the rest need to be obtained very soon. The one I did pick up is called Morning Star and it's almost similar to O.P.I's I Have a Herring Problem. It has more purple than Herring and has a little less obvious shimmer. My camera made the color lighter than it actually is, of course. These pics are a few swipes of Morning Star on the side of some (perhaps awesome?) leopard print. The leopard spots definitely needed more glitter, but other than that I'm pretty satisfied.

Before the addition of Morning Star

Before I grabbed Morning Star I had planned on doing this design with neons a la Algae Veronica, but I just had to try this polish immediately!

Animal print times with friends!

A few weeks ago I got to see one of my very best friends, Lindsey, and her daughter. We of course had to get in some nail time as we rarely see each other (living on the other side of the country sucks for friendships).

Check out that rock too O.O

Those are Lindsey's nails. I used some amazing Sally Hansen pink she had and also a silver she had. Then just dotted some black in for the outline of the prints. She takes good care of her nails so they were easy to work with, and I'm actually pretty proud of the job I did. After I did her nails, her daughter decided she wanted leopard print too, but I did not end up getting a picture of them :( I also did some stamping which was really fun on tiny little fingers haha She sat really well for her nails though, and I can tell that some day she will be a crazy good nail artist!

So, that was actually my second attempt at leopard print, because I had done the style on myself earlier that week.

The pink is How I Met Your Magenta. The lighter pink is some off brand I got super cheaply at Ross. Not super good quality but good for small things like blotching pink for leopard print :]
