Day 23 - Inspired by a Book

My favorite book's theme seemed too complicated to put on nails, so I went with my favorite comic book instead.  BATMAN! Seriously who doesn't love Batman? Fools, that's who! This is the most freehand brush work I have ever attempted, so it's not perfect but I am mostly satisfied.

Pinky to thumb: Joker, Robin, Riddler, Alfred, Batman

Alfred's tie really hurts my brain when I look at it now. So crooked! I'm still reaalllllly enjoying this challenge as it is doing exactly that: Challenging me! Now to start planning tomorrow's nails... ^.^

Thank you for reading :)

I'm just going to list the colors because there were a few:
Xtreme Wear - Mellow Yellow
Zoya - Dove
China Glaze - Kiwi Coolada
Closet Red (A note of explanation about this - I found a set of insanely old nail polishes while home in PA that all apply awesomely but have no name on the bottle. They are named Old Closet Red, Brown, Gold, etc. now! Hah)
Sinful Colors - Let's Meet
Confetti - Belle of the Ball
O.P.I - Honk if You Love OPI
Black nail art striper

Day 22 - Inspired by a Song

I really love music. In fact, my blog is named after a type of music I love: Noise. Noise songs don't really inspire me to do any art that would look good on my nails, though, so I chose Strawberry Fields Forever by The Beatles.

This works for two reasons: This song is pure awesome, and I love doing strawberry nails.

It actually didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but it was my first try at painting actual strawberries, and I am by no means an actual artist, so I'm semi-satisfied.

The red is China Glaze - Winter Berry and the green is China Glaze - Holly-Day. The thumb and ring finger have a base of Sheer Nude by Revlon. I used nail art brushes for most of it and a tooth pick for the seeds. I realize they should have been yellow, but I felt it would look better black. I don't know. Hah
Still, practice makes at least semi-perfect so I may want to retry these soon!

I wanted to take a second to give some serious thanks for all the wonderful comments on both my giveaway post and my blog in general. As an amateur nail artist, it's very easy to get frustrated with yourself when you are constantly seeing so many amazing designs all over blogs and tumblrs. It's hard to measure up to those standards sometimes. But really those comments mean a lot, and I appreciate every single one of them more than I could possibly express here. I guess I'll just have to do lots of giveaways to show my gratitude ;)

Thanks for reading!

Day 21 - Inspired by a Color

I was unsure as to what I was supposed to actually do for this, but I actually was inspired by a color. Gothic Lolita by China Glaze to be exact. I had seen it swatched before, but I really didn't expect it to be so freakin' pretty. I mean seriously, if you're a purple fan, you have to have this polish. It's just a lovely medium purple with the slightest pink shimmer. Really gorgeous. Purple inspired me so these nails are full of purple! I'd also like to dedicate this to Drinkcitra as she is a fellow purple enthusiast :)

The dots are made up of Kleancolor - Pastel Purple (lightest), Confetti - Belle of the Ball (second lightest), and Jordana - Hypnotizing. The accent finger is Honk if You Love OPI and that's also whats on the tips over Gothic Lolita.

I hope everyone has a lovely day!

Day 20 - Water Marble

All that can really be said about this attempt is: It didn't go as badly as I expected. I used only American Apparel - Army Jacket and China Glaze - Mahogany Magic. I added dots to cover up some weird spots. From a distance, it looks a lot cooler :)

I really love the color combination. I think the thing that hurt me the most was the sort of tooth pick I used for dragging. I have crappy squared tooth picks. They do not work well at all!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter (or just a nice Sunday!)
