Day 5 Blue/Day 6 Purple

I did do my nails yesterday, I just couldn't find the time to post them. I was pretty dissatisfied with the pictures, to be honest, and that probably helped me procrastinate a bit! I am quite sad that my camera doesn't seem to want to capture the darkness of certain blues and purples. I'm sure everyone has seen a swatch or two of American Apparel - Mount Royal, and they look nothing like this:

In reality Mount Royal is a very deep blue with an almost purple undertone. Either way, I was covering it up anyway so are pictures after the addition of Sally Hansen Nail Prism - Garnet Lapis:

In many of these photos, the finished product looks more blue than purple (also apparently my kitties were around when I was photographing as I noticed a few hairs on my fingers as I was editing the photos!), but that's just because this polish is hard to photograph. It ranges from blue to purple to even some copper if you catch it at the right angle. The second picture of the layering does a good job illustrating the blue to purple shift, I think. I am happy to say that I own not one but three Nail Prisms. They are all easily over 10 years old, and I found them in my closet when I went home to Pennsylvania over the holiday. Easily one of the greatest nail polish discoveries of my adult life!

For my day 6 purple I chose Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Purple Potion with two coats of China Glaze - Seniorita Bonita on top.

Outside

Again, Seniorita Bonita is much more... vibrant(?) in person. Shimmery with little flecks of pink throughout, it really is a stunning polish. Sadly, the brush that it came with is quite deformed, but at least it still applies well.
Purple Potion is quite awesome as well, I just neglected to photograph it on its own.

I think tomorrow... there will be stamping! I need practice! ^.^

Day 4 - Green

As green is my favorite color, this was destined to be a good day! The greens I chose were China Glaze- Westside Warrior, American Apparel - Army Jacket, and Sinful Colors - Innocent (dark to light)

Flash

The gold is a nail art striper by Sinful Colors called Flower Girl. I really like this striper, it gives super great coverage for a glittery type polish.

This is my first attempt at anything of this nature. I didn't use tape, just nail art brushes. It could be a lot cleaner, but I'm definitely satisfied for my first attempt!

Thanks for reading :)

Note: Am I crazy or does this manicure totally match my blog?! ^.^

Day 3 - Yellow

I have less than 5 yellows in my collection so this was a bit of a challenge. I chose Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Mellow Yellow. The name is accurate - it is a very mellow yellow! It's a pale almost pastel yellow and applies easily in two coats. The dots were inspired by NailedIt's tutorial. Mine didn't come out even close to what it should have been, but I thought the results were cute anyway.

The blue dots are American Apparel's Mount Royal, the purple dots are Jordana's Hypnotizing, and the green dots are American Apparel's Army Jacket. I hope you all have enjoyed my nubbins today! I broke two and they had to be cut down :(

Day 2- Orange

Check me out... actually posting on time. WOO! I'm not being sarcastic, it's pretty major for me! Hah

For my orange I chose Hayden by Julep. It's much more of a bright orange than it looks in these pictures. Even when I tried to take pictures outside, I still couldn't capture the actual color properly. At first I didn't think I'd really like this color (or this manicure to be honest), but it has grown on me quite a bit. I was just trying to do some random crackle stripes, but my OCD nature forced me to make them uniform. The color is really just brilliant. I wouldn't call it a neon. A pastel neon? Is that a thing? Well it should be and this would be it.

My thumbs were a total accident. I was testing out swiping techniques, and I ended up really liking how it came out.

Note: My cuticles look incredibly bad. I have been doing everything but still pretty cuticles elude me! Anyway, I'm really curious what anyone has to say about this design!

Tomorrow will be tough, I have very little selection when it comes to yellow.

31 Day Challenge! Day 1 - Red

So I'ma do the 31 day nail art challenge. And it really will be a huge challenge because I have had zero motivation to do nail art recently. And even if I do the art, I have no motivation to post. I really enjoy posting when I do, it's just getting myself out of the regular funk and doing it. Argh. Anywho... Anyone else reading this probably already knows how this whole deal works so without further ramblings...

Day 1 - Red Nails

This is China Glaze - Snow Globe over China Glaze - Winter Berry. I immediately loved Winter Berry just because it has one of my kitties' names in it and Snow Globe is just frickin' gorgeous. It's really hard to photograph all of the colors in Snow Globe, though!

Winter Berry is a great red on its own, but I really enjoyed the outcome of adding a glitter gradient to it. Snow Globe is quite a hungry glitter, but if I'd man up and pick up some Seche Vite or Gelous I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem. Thanks for reading!

Answer questions
Tag Again consider everyone tagged :)

1. What's your favourite song?
This is insanely hard. If I had to pick one song to listen to right now it would be "Liar" by Built to Spill, and probably them and At the Drive In are responsible for my favorite stuff.

2. What's your favourite dessert?
Red velvet cake. Also strawberry sundaes.

3. What's your favourite pet?
I will not choose between the awesomeness! Fern and Berry are equally special in their own ways.

4. Black or White?
Black.

5. What's your biggest fear?
Heights. F that.

6. What's your best feature?
I'm very nice.

7. What's your everyday attitude?
It can't get any worse..

8. What is perfection?
I honestly have no idea. Right now it would be a large plate of nachos.

9. What is your guilty pleasure?
Super buttery popcorn - but I don't really feel all that guilty about it. I guess if we wanna go TRULY guilty, it'd be the mostly crappy teen dramas I watch. Can't help it. They suck me in. Yeah, I'm 27.

Thanks so much for these awards! It means the world to me to know even one person enjoys reading my blog. Also after reading through your blog I'm pretty sure we'd be best friends if we hung out in real life! :)
