Day 22 - Inspired by a Song

I really love music. In fact, my blog is named after a type of music I love: Noise. Noise songs don't really inspire me to do any art that would look good on my nails, though, so I chose Strawberry Fields Forever by The Beatles.

This works for two reasons: This song is pure awesome, and I love doing strawberry nails.

It actually didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but it was my first try at painting actual strawberries, and I am by no means an actual artist, so I'm semi-satisfied.

The red is China Glaze - Winter Berry and the green is China Glaze - Holly-Day. The thumb and ring finger have a base of Sheer Nude by Revlon. I used nail art brushes for most of it and a tooth pick for the seeds. I realize they should have been yellow, but I felt it would look better black. I don't know. Hah
Still, practice makes at least semi-perfect so I may want to retry these soon!

I wanted to take a second to give some serious thanks for all the wonderful comments on both my giveaway post and my blog in general. As an amateur nail artist, it's very easy to get frustrated with yourself when you are constantly seeing so many amazing designs all over blogs and tumblrs. It's hard to measure up to those standards sometimes. But really those comments mean a lot, and I appreciate every single one of them more than I could possibly express here. I guess I'll just have to do lots of giveaways to show my gratitude ;)

Thanks for reading!

31 Day Challenge! Day 1 - Red

So I'ma do the 31 day nail art challenge. And it really will be a huge challenge because I have had zero motivation to do nail art recently. And even if I do the art, I have no motivation to post. I really enjoy posting when I do, it's just getting myself out of the regular funk and doing it. Argh. Anywho... Anyone else reading this probably already knows how this whole deal works so without further ramblings...

Day 1 - Red Nails

This is China Glaze - Snow Globe over China Glaze - Winter Berry. I immediately loved Winter Berry just because it has one of my kitties' names in it and Snow Globe is just frickin' gorgeous. It's really hard to photograph all of the colors in Snow Globe, though!

Winter Berry is a great red on its own, but I really enjoyed the outcome of adding a glitter gradient to it. Snow Globe is quite a hungry glitter, but if I'd man up and pick up some Seche Vite or Gelous I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem. Thanks for reading!
