Day 21 - Inspired by a Color

I was unsure as to what I was supposed to actually do for this, but I actually was inspired by a color. Gothic Lolita by China Glaze to be exact. I had seen it swatched before, but I really didn't expect it to be so freakin' pretty. I mean seriously, if you're a purple fan, you have to have this polish. It's just a lovely medium purple with the slightest pink shimmer. Really gorgeous. Purple inspired me so these nails are full of purple! I'd also like to dedicate this to Drinkcitra as she is a fellow purple enthusiast :)

The dots are made up of Kleancolor - Pastel Purple (lightest), Confetti - Belle of the Ball (second lightest), and Jordana - Hypnotizing. The accent finger is Honk if You Love OPI and that's also whats on the tips over Gothic Lolita.

I hope everyone has a lovely day!

Day 11 - Dots

I remember seeing a design similar to this floating around on the internet, but I cannot recall the name of the original artist. Any help would be appreciated! These colors came out unintentionally Easter-like, but that's ok because it is Easter/Spring time after all.

For the base I used Confetti - Belle of the Ball - it really is a wonderful color. Well, if you like purple as much as I do!
The dark blue is Cynthia by Zoya, the green is Innocent by Sinful Colors, the yellow Sally Hansen's Mellow Yellow, and the pink is a no name no brand situation I got in a big pack from Ross. The generic, weird-smelling polishes actually work really well for bases or nail art as long as you have a good top coat. I've definitely seen worse formulas.

I am pretty happy with the way this turned out - what do you think?

Pastel Clouds

The ever-amazing Jane at Nailside came up with this cute design awhile back. After seeing so many awesome recreations, I had to try it out myself. I used Sinful Colors Innocent and Confetti Belle of the Ball. I can't remember the white's name. -_-  I use Innocent a lot, if anyone has noticed, but I just picked up Belle of the Ball last week at CVS. I went there because I had heard there were a ton of good sales going on, but I must have heard way too late because they were cleaned out. Either way, I walked away with basically the cheapest polishes I could find in any colors I didn't have 2 of. This lovely purple is one of them.

While it's fun and cute, I kind of regret the color combination. It didn't look very nice on my skin. Maybe light purples just don't do well for me. My light was creating some crazy glare in these pictures too. I kind of liked the effect, though.
